  • Essay / Operations Management: Effective operations management...

All resources combined together can inevitably make or break a business. It is essential that both sectors understand the need and value of available resources and adapt, where necessary, to the demands of the economy and industry. The objective of both is to provide a sector of consumers with quality products or services. Human resources are essential, both for the implementation, execution and delivery of the product or services provided. The dynamics of the two genres of operations management vary depending on industry needs and demands, available technology, and ever-changing consumer trends. It is important that both are flexible and responsive to new needs, to retain established customers, have an advantage in their market, whilst hopefully attracting a new demographic, to contribute to the overall success of the business. Ultimately, this is the bottom line, profitability and growth, of a company that has the ability to upgrade its technology, invest in new and current resources available, encourage, motivate and reward its employees for continued success. (In my ideal world, I would hope that service businesses and manufacturing companies tend to be green, environmentally conscious, and advocate for a cruelty-free policy.
