    Because altering reality can be created in many different forms, artists of the early 20th century altered reality in magnificent works of art. 'art. Artists are able to physically alter our reality and the way we perceive it through their manipulation of visual language; tell the unspeakable, say the unspeakable and transfer the viewer into an imaginable mythical universe where anything can happen. They created a way to escape the real world, a place where audiences can relax and feel at peace. Salvador Dali and Alex Andreev are two notable and well-known reality-altering artists. Dali's well-known surrealist artworks appeared in the late 1920s and are emblematic of this period. Dora Ades said of Dali's works: "Surrealism advocates the idea that ordinary, figurative expressions are vital and important, but that the meaning of their arrangement must be open to the full range of imagination. » (Ades, D. 2001 p. 35) Andreev's artworks are a contemporary version of surrealism and are contrasting, bright and energetic. Both succeed in altering reality by manipulating the audience's reality physically and mentally using displaced objects, physically impossible themes and intriguing ideas. After World War I, people were hungry for something to ease their minds from the sorrow, suffering and reality of war. The surrealist movement aimed to create art; literature and philosophy that soothe the soul and help them forget or modify the reality in which they live. There were also developments in Sigmund Freud's study of the human mind that opened up ideas about the imagination, which inspired many artists such as Dali.
