    Wheeler (2013) states that “buildings are one of the largest users of energy and materials in the world.” This is because building construction uses a significant percentage of wood, concrete and steel, and buildings leave huge waste in landfills after their demolition. Not to mention that heating and air conditioning consume a lot of energy like electricity and gas in addition to releasing large quantities of carbon dioxide. Green architecture aims to minimize the negative impact on the environment and provide a better living experience for residents through proper and scientific design by architects. Architecture being the main body of a city, its sustainability is certainly a key factor in the long-term development of the city.
