  • Essay / Renaissance Man, Leonardo da Vinci - 679

Most people don't realize that a parachute and the Mona Lisa have one factor in common: Leonardo da Vinci. His self-teaching techniques are very impressive and unique compared to those of the Renaissance. This Renaissance man, Leonardo da Vinci, generously impacted the world of art and science by creating new world inventions, perfecting new artistic techniques, and creating the most famous in history. Leonardo da Vinci's inventions were all considered fever dreams at the time. The Renaissance era, like the equivalent of seeing a futuristic object in a science fiction movie, but they have inspired many current products of today's world. Some of the ideas his imagination scribbled in a notebook are the parachute, the diving suit, armored cars (like army tanks), and an Ornithopter, a machine designed to fly using wings (Lampton Christopher). Some of these inventions, or in reality, are simply newly designed weapons and works of art, like the Last Supper, that were created for the Duke of Milan as an engineer and military designer. Leonardo was totally anti-war, but being in Renaissance Italy, he was constantly surrounded by it. He helped design many weapons, such as missiles, multi-barrel machine guns, grenades, mortars, and even a modern-style tank. Additionally, fascinated by water, he designed an underwater suit with breathing apparatus (including a hood), webbed gloves for exploring underwater, and a life jacket. He did not disclose this information to the military, for fear that the suit would be used for "evil in war". Leo's notes were written in a manner unlike any other, like many of his artistic techniques ("Renaissance Man"). He wrote in Italian and in his own shorthand that he had invented. However, he also used "mirror writing",...... middle of paper......). By going out and making himself “arrive” in the world, Leonardo became one of the most influential artists and inventors. , and scientists of all time.
