Essay / Mindset - 1045
Michael Jordan, considered the greatest basketball player in history, once said, “If you try to achieve this, there will be obstacles. I got them; everyone has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you hit a wall, don't turn around and give up. Find out how to climb it, cross it or go around it. This quote describes Jordan's mindset as he struggled to achieve his dreams. The effectiveness of his mindset has proven that we can turn it into a powerful weapon that will help us excel in life. Michael Jordan had a positive mindset. He didn't give up after failing the first time. He kept trying to get where he wanted. His mindset defined him, just as our mindset defines us. Whether we are optimistic or pessimistic, it plays a huge role in our travels. A pessimistic person risks never achieving their dreams because they constantly doubt themselves. He believes he will constantly fail. Successful people embrace failure because that's what makes them stronger and smarter the next time they work toward their goal. Our mindset is what defines our success, because it is what will make us work hard and strive to achieve our dreams, no matter how many failures come first. Each of us is unique in our own way. We each have our own beliefs and that is what differentiates us from each other. We think and process ideas differently. There is no one specific mindset that we can all have to be successful. Rather, it's about deciding what we can change to improve. The way we act in different situations reflects the way our minds work in different ways. This may be related to the fight or flight response, where some people can... middle of paper ...... their own sports, and this has helped countless numbers of people who play sports or do n no matter what. Otherwise. In retrospect, our mindset greatly defines who we are. Whether or not we want to make an effort to achieve our goals, our mindset pushes us to do so. Michael Jordan didn't stop trying until he achieved his goal, no matter the many failures he went through. He could accept failure, but he couldn't accept not trying. Failure helped him succeed, just as it has helped many others like Tom Brady. Brady learned from his mistakes and got better at his job. These examples show us that our mindset can completely change our lives if we let it. If we change certain aspects of our mindset, such as being positive, accepting failure, and doing nothing less than working hard, then we can all succeed in whatever path we want to take..
