Population aging is a global phenomenon in the 21st century and has changed the demographic profile of many countries. Malaysia is also keeping pace with other countries when it comes to its aging population, something the country is also gradually experiencing. Malaysia's elderly population is expected to increase from 5% in 2010 to 11.4% in 2040 (Department of Statistics Malaysia, 2010). The planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the services and activities provided will require the availability of robust evidence bases and relevant research. It is important that older people remain integrated into society and that they themselves have a say in the formulation and implementation of policies that directly affect their well-being, while sharing their knowledge, skills and their wisdom with society, and in particular with the younger generation..
