Abortion: Federal and State Laws UnconstitutionalAbortion has been a highly controversial subject politically and culturally for many years. Democrats are considered supportive of a woman's right to abortion, while Republicans are against abortion due to their conservative culture. Women's right to abortion has been violated by state and federal laws. Laws governing women's rights to abortion are unconstitutional because they prohibit women from making their own decision whether or not to have an abortion. Women should have the right to abortion without any regulation by state and federal governments because they may not be able to financially support the child or it may be an undesirable pregnancy. desired. Women have always been minorities throughout American history and have always been demeaned by men simply because they are women. Women have always been limited in everything they do. For example, women are typically paid less than men if both do the same job and work the same number of hours due to stereotypes that they cannot perform the same tasks as men. Women are not only discriminated against in employment, but are also restricted in what they do with their bodies when seeking an abortion by state and federal laws. According to Pema Levy, “over the past three years, states across the country have passed more abortion restrictions – more than 200 laws – than in the previous decade” (np).
