Industrial competitiveness requires technological capability and the development of higher technological innovation. The Malaysia-Japan Automotive Industries Cooperation (MAJAICO) is a program created to improve Malaysia's automotive industries to be more competitive in the global market. The main objective is to increase productivity improvement through inventory reduction, develop local Lean expert, save time during die changeover and reduce inventory. The long-term strategy in the future is to ensure that local automobile companies can conduct the LPS program themselves without the assistance of a Japanese LPS expert and develop a Lean culture throughout the Malaysian automobile industry. Bhd. is one of the automotive industries following this program launched under the Malaysia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (MJEA) by implementing Lean Production System (LPS) in their business. The implementation of LPS is currently being evaluated in this program. The goal is for both the supplier and the car manufacturer to improve their level of quality and technology.
