This is also called sexual discrimination which has existed since ancient times and which remains a difficult situation even as the 21st century progresses. This is one of the hallmarks of the United States, although governmental and nongovernmental agencies have made considerable progress in realizing women's rights through education, empowerment, and dynamic actions over the of the last century. However, there is still a long way to go to achieve full equality. The most notable topics when it comes to female inequality in the workplace are the wage gap and the “glass ceiling.” These are the major concerns that women face, even though they are mostly more educated or more efficient than men. Although women have worked in one capacity or another in the United States since the birth of this country, they nevertheless receive very low salaries and promotions. During World War I, women began to enter the workforce due to the shortage of men. They worked until World War II and held positions reserved for men. Seven million women entered the workforce, but they had no legal rights until the passage of Title VII of the Civil Act of 1964. Under this law, the employer cannot discriminate against people on the basis of gender, color, race, national region and religion. Title VII prohibits employers from denying women available positions based on their qualifications. This law allows women to sue their employers if they feel discriminated against. But there is still an unequal distribution of benefits and other privileges in the middle of the document. The solution is not to remove gender implications from the hiring and promotion process. Women need to educate themselves by overcoming this concept that women are sensitive people who let their emotions control their minds. Women must prove that they can overcome their emotions and handle any crucial situation at work when it arises. Additionally, we should inform the employee and employer of federal laws regarding discrimination in the workplace. Both should know that under federal law, when companies develop employee handbook and human resources policies, it is mandatory to incorporate anti-discrimination laws into company procedures. Only in this way can we defeat this scourge and realize that women are as equal as men and deserve to access and enjoy the same benefits and opportunities..
