In this essay, I will explore various concepts relating to women and deeply critique the way women are viewed and represented through advertising. My main resource that I will reference throughout this essay is a book called “Ways of See” by John Berger, which highlights the role of women in the early Renaissance and beyond. In addition to this, I will explore women's diverse beliefs from a wide range of secondary resources and include references from books, websites, and various images to help clarify my statements. “Since the dawn of human society, every woman was in a state of slavery to a man, because she was valuable to him and she had less muscular strength than him. (Stuart Mill, John. The Subjection of Women, New York: D. Appleton Co, 1869) Over the past decade, our modern society has protected women's rights through the law; however, the subjection of women can be observed throughout our modern times and throughout history. This issue brought out the worst and best in both sexes and because of this, women became led astray by man's ideals. This is why the abuse of women has not changed much over the last century. But does the Modern Woman have the same rights equivalent to those of her male counterpart? Can a modern woman work more hours both at work and at home and receive the same reward if a man had switched places with her? Men and women play an important role in our society and that is why each gender has specific responsibilities. . But before analyzing these responsibilities, we must first define what a man and a woman are. What is a man? Are men the dominant sex? Or is a man a power-hungry tyrant? The definition of Man in terms of philosophy is human nature, a middle of paper when it comes to lust, which includes sexual pleasures, prostitution and sex trafficking. Knowing this, you would think women would present themselves more seriously, but the exact opposite is happening. These continuous loops of failure have severely weakened women's physical presence and, as a result, are constantly singled out in global debates on topics such as war or threats to national security, and are constantly burdened with tasks related to health and family life. In my research, I read many books from the 19th century onwards, such as Stuart Mill's book "The Subjection of Women" (1869) or Butler's "Gender Troubles" (1990). These two books and many others have helped me in my research. quest to evoke a personal concept of woman, but among all, I found Berger's "Ways of Seeing" to be the most fruitful in terms of literally explaining women..
