    AbstractThe success of any business organization, in the challenging environment of the new millennium, lies in effective human resource management (HRM) practices. Effective HRM practices can develop a strong healthcare delivery system through an effective team of healthcare workers, which ultimately ensures the success of any healthcare business organization. Human resource practices in the healthcare sector are a complex area, especially in developing countries like Pakistan. HRM practices have a positive effect on employee and company performance. This study was conducted to find the relationship between HRM practices and perceived performance of health workers in Pakistan. The study was conducted in Rawalpindi and Islamabad hospitals using a personally administered questionnaire. The result showed a strong positive relationship between compensation and promotion practices and perceived performance of healthcare workers, while performance appraisal practices had a weak positive relationship with perceived performance of healthcare workers.
