Twitter is a social media that has become extremely popular with today's young adults, 140 characters at a time. This form of communication allows people from all over the world to connect on the same topic or share their personal thoughts or opinions. Given the growing popularity of Twitter, higher education professors and administrators are now turning to this social media to better communicate with students on several different platforms, such as class discussions, academic updates or even scholarship applications. Several studies, but few in number, have been carried out by researchers on the impact or effectiveness of Twitter as a learning tool. Due to the current popularity of Twitter, our research group decided to study students' Twitter use in more detail. We chose this topic because, as students, we are very familiar with social media, such as Twitter. With the rapid growth of technology we experience today and our own experience with social media in the classroom, we wanted to see how other universities and students are taking advantage of Twitter. Background and Research Objective In recent years, students are using more technologies, such as the Internet, for reading or research and books are becoming obsolete. Instead of meeting with colleagues, students communicate via email, text messages, and other social media.
