The Weimar Republic began after the devastation Germany experienced during World War I. Germany needed an organized government to reclaim money, land, and respect from other European countries. The Weimar Republic proved to be the answer, and although it initially sparked hatred and scrutiny, it later led Germany to economic prosperity. Although it overcame one crisis, it could not survive the second crisis of 1929. The population's intense dislike of the system led to the crisis experienced by the Weimar Republic from 1919 to 1923 It arose from Weimar's acceptance of the Treaty of Versailles and the loss of money, land and property. They faced rebellions and terrorist acts from the left and right, public disapproval, hyperinflation, communist opposition, and the Kapp Putsch.
