    Homelessness has been seen all over the world for generations and generations. The word homeless generally refers to a person who is homeless and generally living on the streets. That said, they have no fixed address, no roof over their heads, nowhere to go and/or are displaced. When talking about homelessness, the term poverty also comes into play. Obviously, these two things go hand in hand, because poverty is known as the state of extreme poverty. When funds and resources are not readily available, people have no choice but to end up in poverty, which can be one of the causes of homelessness. According to the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness, this problem in America affects all ages, ethnicities, religions, and urban and rural communities. Last year, this campaign reported that 3.5 million people were sleeping in parks, shelters, or in their cars (National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness, 2013).
