Essay / Applying continuous improvement to your business
1. IntroductionFor a company, regardless of the sector in which it operates, it must adopt its business environment. This process can of course differ across industries, as it evolves more quickly in the technology sector and may evolve more slowly in the food and beverage sector. However, all companies in different sectors have a common mission which is continuous improvement. A company can become a market leader in 20 years of experience and dominate all markets with full bargaining powers. It is much more difficult to secure your current market leadership position by being the best. Maintaining your position at the top, no matter what industry you are in, requires more research, competitive analysis, motivation, innovation and one of the most important keys is continuous improvement. Continuous improvement is important because it seeks to improve products, services or processes in order to improve competitive position. If you think you are the best and no longer need improvement for your business, you are making a big mistake. To illustrate, as Michael Keefe gave an example of the need for improvement, Tiger Woods, who is one of the richest sportsmen in the world and the number one golfer in the world, always had the desire to improve: he s a coach has been found. and they spent time improving his swing. EFQM excellence, which supports it in many ways. Regardless, it will be analyzed and discussed how EFQM plays a role in continuous improvement and is a solution to the obstacles to achieving “IC”. The excellence model involves continuous improvement; as ...... middle of paper ...... commitment to bottom-up improvement. Employees are the key factor in process improvement. They may resist continuous change if there is no consistent communication about the constant flow of improvement. In addition, encouraging employees to get involved in continuous improvement is another issue in the employee engagement process. Simply informing about the change is not important, it is important to ensure that they contribute to the improvement themselves as individuals and the methods to achieve this must be effective (Gunnarsdóttir 2012 ). To overcome these obstacles to continuous improvement, identifying what needs to change and why it needs to change will help the “change process” not surprise employees. Classifying the consequences for the company of not reacting to the challenge could be the next step.2.3 Role of EFQM in “CI”3. Conclusion
