The foundation on which all its principles are laid was that our fundamental law came from God; However, Skousen's argument for this fundamental premise is futile. He has cited individuals who will be recognized as authorities in vain to form a convincing argument; nevertheless, he failed to prove his point that the U.S. Constitution is based solely on biblical law. Although emphasized frequently throughout the book, the Constitution never implies that the existence of a Creator is necessary for the freedom of any group of people. Skousen has never once acknowledged to readers that Mormon theology is the source of many of his ideas, although his depiction of America is primarily dominated by his devout Mormonism. In this book, many misleading quotes were used to support Skousen's views. These quotes were blindly accepted due to the name attached without proper insight into the context of the quote. It seemed that Skousen frequently interpreted his sources deliberately to authenticate his argument, often without proper justification or well-argued argument. The public was ultimately misled into believing flimsy claims whose conclusions were unproven; Skousen achieved this by supporting axioms that will be widely accepted and by hastily drawing the conclusions with which we have
