Essay / Macbeth Theme Analysis - 1601
Macbeth is by far best known for the tragic story of a young man who becomes thirsty for power, then loses everything he has, including his life. The play is famous especially for the story, however, readers who pay more attention to it and understand the secondary meaning of the story appreciate it more than some. The play should be famous not only for its plot, but also for the secondary themes and meanings that are pervasive throughout the play. Not only in Macbeth were there secondary meanings in many parts, but also throughout Shakespeare's work. It takes a special person to understand the secondary meanings of Shakespeare's work, but when one appreciates what Shakespeare wrote specifically for those people, people tend to appreciate Shakespeare's plays even more. I for one never understood any of the secondary meanings of Shakespeare's plays, however, during my senior year I began to look beyond the lines. It is for this reason that I have developed a greater enjoyment of Shakespeare's plays. The messages written by Shakespeare appeal to me because I can apply most of the messages in my daily life.
