My grandmother died at the age of 98. As she aged, her body could no longer function properly without the use of many different medications. She had a medicine cabinet in her kitchen cabinet. Additionally, she underwent numerous surgeries throughout her life in order to stay alive. As her weather began to brighten, my mother's adorable mother no longer had the mental capacity to perform daily tasks, despite the fact that she had never suffered from dementia or another disorder exhaustion of brain capacity. She had simply outlived her body. I loved my grandmother and valued the time I spent with her, but the question that comes to mind is: what effect does modern medicine have on overall quality of life? Many advances in modern medicine have led to excessive prolongation of life expectancy. As a result, the world's population is multiplying and leading to huge increases in the amount of money spent on health care in the United States. In short, modern medicine contributes to the unimaginable debt of the United States, in addition to overpopulating the planet. To fully understand the problem, we must first look at the effects that health care costs have on the economy and American families. Skyrocketing costs and the perpetual need for health care have led to a dramatic increase in debt for large numbers of Americans, as well as the nation as a whole. Although it performs amazing acts of salvation every day, modern medicine is as expensive as one would suppose such a miracle could cost. For example, the average cost of a triple bypass, like my grandfather's, costs over $200,000 and is primarily covered by insurance.
