    Danica Patrick, is a name commonly heard when talking about women competing in sports. Danica Patrick rose to fame trying to be the fastest driver in NASCAR. Even before Danica, a total of 18 women competed in NASCAR (yahoosports). We never really talk about many of these women, but now there's a new one on the trail, and she's making history with every lap of her race called life. Every race has to have a starting line, which is a real statement for Danica Patrick. Danica Patrick began her ride we call life on March 5, 1982, in Beloit Wisconsin. While Danica was growing up, she watched her father TJ Patrick race. When she was 10, Danica and her sister started go-karting. While Danica was at Hononehah High School in Rosecoe, Danica did cheerleading. While still in high school in England, she dropped out to pursue her career as a pilot. (Bio.com) Now she was racing toward becoming the next woman in NASCAR. The common thought of a woman is a lady who says at home, cooks and cleans, and all this is good for. Well, Danica didn't find this track to be the race of her life. "You can do anything you want and gender doesn't matter." (Danica Patrick) In 2002, Danica signed with Rahahl-Letterman Racing, which gave her a small boost in her career . In 2003, Danica placed 10th in the Pro Drive Ferrari team. In 2005, Danica was the fourth woman to compete in the Indianapolis 500. Shortly after, in 2005, Danica became the first Indy race car driver to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated since Al Unser in 1987. Most of NASCAR's top competitors were against Danica. . While the other drivers were making smartass remarks about Danica, she was becoming a rookie ...... middle of paper ...... starting line in life; we find what our passion is and that’s what pushes us to the finish line. Danica became famous by trying to be the fastest driver. Now, Danica is still on the race of life and making history at every turn, and moving full speed ahead to the finish line.
