Throughout 2016, many people will assert that they can lead America to greatness again, just as they do every election year. This focuses attention on leadership, and most Americans simply believe that these potential candidates exhibit leadership characteristics. Unfortunately, politicians don't always exemplify leadership, and many Americans deal with poor leaders, such as terrible bosses, on a daily basis. Because of these mundane experiences, leadership may not appear as a straightforward character trait. Adaptable communication, the ability to inspire, clear passion and professional attitudes all characterize a true leader. Chad Miller, manager of Buffalo Wild Wings in Dubuque, showcases his leadership characteristics perfectly every time I work with him. Throughout my year and a half working under him, I witnessed Chad's many great leadership interactions with customers, employees and his other managers. He remains professional, shows his passion for the sport within the restaurant, as well as the food and atmosphere, communicates clearly and effectively and has inspired many people to grow within the company. However, another great example of leadership comes from Northeast Iowa Community College’s Director of Student Life, Diversity and Leadership, Kara Popp. She exudes professionalism, while maintaining a light atmosphere while I work with her. His communication style clearly shows his passion for the school by constantly generating enthusiasm and enthusiasm among his audience. As president under Kara, I became a true leader. Although my previous leadership experience, as an 18-year-old manager at a McDonald's restaurant, showed my immaturity throughout my tenure, but because...... middle of paper.... .. yes, a leader cannot control every aspect of the team or the project being worked on, therefore, an effective leader must understand this and adapt their leadership mindset to different scenarios. Even the most inspired and passionate team always has difficult times, no matter what the leader does. The best thing an effective leader can do in this situation is to remain professional and maintain a calm demeanor. Maintaining a calm, cool and collected demeanor, even when curve balls are thrown, signifies a strong leader. When a huge number of errors or defects occur during a project, a bad leader will be negatively affected and lose control of their team. A bad leader becomes frustrated, angry, or even depressed during times of struggle. Despite everything, an effective leader remains calm and will not allow even the worst setback to affect his leadership style...
