    Politicians and citizens have fervently debated congressional term limits for years; The issue has given rise to numerous legislative proposals, but few have garnered government or public support. Yet the nation's welfare craves this reform, because it will bring progress, efficiency, and increased dedication to the American people. The legislative branch is where ideas are created and implemented. By imposing term limits, the American people can ensure that they rely on only the most intellectually elite, selfless, and responsible leaders to cultivate and promote these ideas. New people must be given the opportunity to inject progressive ideas and challenge the ideals of corrupt legislation. These necessities can be met more quickly and effectively through the implementation of term limits in Congress. Term limits will have the power to give Congress a renewed and more effective membership. By implementing term limits in Congress, the government is assured of legislative power that works to uphold the visions of the Founding Fathers. The founding fathers manipulated the standards of government to ensure that their creation met the needs of the people, not the other way around; Because of their achievements and reliability, it is best that we adhere to their original plans. Yet, like all human beings, they did not see how much society would change over the centuries to come. The current government has obviously strayed from its path because the founders were unable to impose such far-sighted restrictions. In order to get them back on track, it is essential that they put in place the regulations that were needed so long ago.
