Transhumanism will start small with slight improvements to help athletes, people with special needs, etc. ; but like most things, it will get old. Once this wonder is lost, scientists will have to continue to do more and more to keep people interested. Eventually, people will be reconstituted in laboratories. Parents will be able to consult the doctor and decide which genes they want their baby to have. What will happen when humans start playing God? The world is going to experience a lot of trouble. Who will decide when this stops? Who will decide which humans are good enough to live? When will people wake up and realize what they've done? Ronald Bailey is a science correspondent for Reason magazine and author of “Transhumanism: The Most Dangerous Idea? Why striving to be more than human is human. In his essay, Bailey states: “Human liberation from our biological constraints began when an ancestor sharpened a stick… followed by fire, the wheel, the domestication of animals… transplants, and contraception. » (QUOTE) This argument would make sense if Bailey was talking about how humans have modified the world around them to create better living conditions, but that is not the case. Bailey tries to use this evidence to support the alteration of humans. Changing the world you live in is very different from changing the people who live in that world.
