A main area of interest is the leadership of businesswomen and the consequences they might face as leaders. The authors' findings show how leadership values are constructed linguistically and offer a perspective on feminist linguistic ideas to explain why so few women advance to leadership roles. Two main linguistic ideas emerge from this study. The first is that all-female teams tend to express themselves competitively and are not compatible with all-male groups. The second link focuses on how women's teams interact in a “leadership” manner. This article raised some good points about how communication can be improved for both men and women. Gender balance tends to allow members to utilize broader linguistic business communication, which leads to a more favorable environment for relationship building allowing for a more successful area of work. After reading this article, I found some good points: Most groups I've experienced in college tend to have more girls, but I haven't experienced a group where women are considered as more controlling.
