At the beginning of this course, I set three SMART goals, including implementing research-based practices, differentiating content, processes, and assessments, and incorporating visual materials to support learners of various academic levels in my classroom. . Throughout this course, I have strived to achieve these goals in order to better serve the academically diverse learners in my class. I was able to achieve all the goals I set for myself in this course. My first goal, implementing research-based practices to meet the needs of learners from diverse academic backgrounds, was an ambitious goal. I focused on implementing cooperative learning, access to prior knowledge, native language support, and scaffolding lessons. It was extremely beneficial to have the ESL teacher come to class and provide support to my ELL students. My second goal, differentiating content, process, and assessment, has been very beneficial to my teaching and my students' learning. This focus helped me provide one-on-one instruction and support throughout my literacy block. I was able to reach and challenge my high-achieving students and provide support and intervention to my struggling students. Finally, my final goal was to incorporate visual representations to support ELL students. I incorporated pictures, graphic organizers, posters and drawings. All through this
