  • Essay / The Clipboard Tablet Company - 903

IntroductionThe Clipboard Tablet Company is an organization that designs and manufactures tablet computers. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of this organization seeks to take the organization to the next level. In making the decision to take the organization to the next level, the CEO felt that the organization needed a change within the marketing department. The Vice President (VP) of Market was released and I was hired to move the marketing department into the future based on the CEO's vision. The CEO asked me to do an analysis of the last four years. The organization currently offers three products in the market, namely the X5, X6 and X7 tablet models. As the new market vice president, I am dedicated to getting the most out of all three models over five years. The X5 model appears to be performing at a competitive level after being on the market for three years. The X6 model was the next product manufactured by Clipboard Tablet Company in the market for 2 years, in an era where customers care about performance and not price, this tablet is a cut above its competitors. The X7 model is being released at a time when customers are more concerned about price than performance. It has been on the market for a year. Prices, sales, revenues, costs and profits for the year 2011. The Clipboard Tablet Company, productive in 2011, sold 968,979 X5 tablets at $285 per tablet, generating revenue of $276,159,015 minus the total manufacturing cost of $232,167,777, resulting in a profit of $43,991,238. The profitability percentage was 16% and the contribution margin rate was 47%. The profit margin per tablet is $45.40. During the same year, the organization sold 562,961 X6 tablets at $430 per tablet, resulting in wasted paper time......and the development of new products to continue profitability. The chart below shows the profit generated by each model per year. ConclusionOverall, compared to Joe Scheme's cumulative profit of $1,513,237,527 by not changing prices or R&D. “Based on the simulation, there was an opportunity to make an additional profit of $586,762,473, so the best cumulative profit would be $2,100,000,000” (Elson, n.d.). Marketing managers need to understand the organization's financial position, market share, pricing, and the significance of R&D's impact on future profitability. As Vice President of Marketing for Clipboard Tablet Company, we will do everything possible to maximize the potential of our products to make a profit. Works Cited Elson, J. (nd).
