  • Essay / September 11, 2001 and the World Trade Center - 1467

September 11, 2001 marked a tragic event in the history of the United States. An American Airlines Boeing 767 carrying thousands of gallons of jet fuel crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York. The impact left a burning hole near the 80th floor of the skyscraper, instantly killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds more on the upper floors. As the evacuation of the two towers began, live information was broadcast to the public in the form of images and videos of what initially appeared to be a freak accident. Then, 18 minutes after the first plane hit, a second Boeing 767 – United Airlines Flight 175 – appeared from the sky, turned sharply toward the World Trade Center and slammed into the South Tower, near the 60th floor. The collision caused a massive explosion that sent burning debris onto surrounding buildings and all over the streets. As millions watched events unfold in New York, American Airlines Flight 77 flew over downtown Washington, D.C., and crashed into the west side of the Pentagon military headquarters. America was under attack! After the September 11 attacks, many conspiracy theories surfaced. Some involve fake 911 phone calls and others touch on government secrecy. However, the most compelling theory about the September 11 attacks suggests that the World Trade Centers were demolished by bombs. Many believe the towers were actually destroyed by explosives placed in selected areas. Dozens of survivors of the attack can support this theory. Additionally, the engineers who designed the towers and the scientists combine their knowledge and compare their opinions to conclude with certainty that bombs were indeed planted in the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. Of the thousands of people who died.. .. middle of paper ...... the collapse of the Twin Towers, resulting in thousands of deaths. The day when thousands of people lost their lives, the day when terrorists entered our country and destroyed the Twin Towers, the day of September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten in the history of the whole world. This devastating day gave rise to much controversy and unanswered questions. Planes hitting the towers were one of the main causes of destruction. However, many believe that the towers were actually destroyed with explosives placed in selected areas in an attempt to cause them to collapse. With the help of the many survivors, local witnesses, scientific studies and known facts about the towers, many can determine the true cause of the collapse. Explosive devices, along with aircraft, are the main cause of death, destruction and sorrow on this day. 9/11.
