  • Essay / McDonald's Fast Food Restaurant Review - 1414

This McDonald's has some similarities and some differences from the McDonald's located in Washington Heights. You can see everything inside the McDonalds because the windows are completely transparent, except for some posters covering certain parts of the window. The window posters promote McDonald's value menu and the other says you can win a new Xbox One. There is another poster promoting their white chocolate mocha. The McDonalds is located on a street corner and does not have an awning extending into the street. The awning does not hold traditional colors. The awning or window is made up of brown, black and white colors. The name McDonalds is written entirely in white, while it sits on a background of brown and black stripes. The brown stripes protrude while the black stripes lie in the background. Below this sign is another sign that protrudes in front of the main entrance. This sign is very small but has the McDonalds logo, but uses the colors red, yellow and brown. The area is very busy and when I first look at McDonalds, there are four people standing outside. One of them is a white male in his 60s and she's standing and scratching a lotto ticket. He wears a black leather driver's cap, a black wool coat, semi-dark blue jeans, and black round-toed shoes. His face was chubby and he had a blond mustache. One unique thing was that he carried a dark colored bag in his arm that said “American Liver Foundation”. Your liver, your life. A few steps away from him is a white woman in her fifties. She wears a long gray and black striped wool coat, blue pants and black pointy shoes. She was slightly overweight and was holding a white and red shopping bag in the middle of a paper...obvious because it was so cramped. A major difference between this McDonald's and other Mcdonalds was that the concierge here was a young white man who appeared to be around 25 years old. He wore the same uniform as the other staff member and wore dark glasses. All of the janitors in Washington Heights were primarily Hispanic women. This janitor seemed frustrated though because he really didn't have any space to move or clean. People were cycling in and out of the restaurant. When I was there, the African American woman next to me spilled her drink on the floor. The concierge told her everything was fine several times and she kept apologizing. I could tell he was having trouble from the moans he was making and he kept running from one end of the restaurant to the other. Also, since it was raining, he constantly went to the entrance to clean, but was constantly stopped by people entering..
