  • Essay / Brown dwarfs - 523

This article was published in Scientific Daily on December 23. This was the discovery of two brown dwarfs by scientists Alex Wolszczan, Evan Pugh and Penn State. Brown dwarfs are objects in space that lie between the lines of a star and a planet. This object is dim and difficult to distinguish from low-mass stars in the early stages of the dwarf's life. They are often called failed stars because they begin their lives in the same way as ordinary stars. However, at one point, they simply didn't have enough mass gathered to generate the fusion energy of a star. Scientists are certain that brown dwarfs are the missing link between stars and planets, but how dwarfs form still remains a mystery. Seeing double brown dwarfs near a star is very rare. Seeing a double near a K-type is a first in the scientific world. This star is called BD +20 2457 and it is nearing the end of its life. Normally, a brown dwarf would be created from a star formation or a planet formation. Planets form when the star rotates and sucks up dust and gas from the nebula. Like the...
