    A leader will be interested in the opinion of his subordinate and, in general, will strive to ensure that communication is based on discussion. Collaboration and feedback are typically the building blocks of a leader's communication style. A good leader must focus on emotional intelligence and the ability to not only speak, but also listen to what their subordinate is saying. Since the focus of leadership is on making a difference, communication is often more about inspiring subordinates and leading by example. A leader does not say “Do this,” but focuses more on showing how things could or should be done. In terms of delegation, leaders not only delegate responsibilities, but also authority to varying degrees. A leader can advise on the overall goal, but allow their subordinate to find their own way to achieve it. Therefore, there is also delegation in leader communication, but it is usually a deeper form of delegation and not just the provision of tasks to be accomplished.
