  • Essay / Latino Immigration Essay - 731

It is not easy to leave your country and go to another place in search of something better for your family or your future. That's what I think because I'm Latina and I know how difficult it was for me when I came to the United States, even though I didn't cross the border like other immigrants, but I considered it difficult too. The first time I worked in the United States was in a nightclub. I worked there because I wanted to earn my own money to understand how difficult it is to earn your own money. Working at that place was a nightmare for me, especially when the people who frequented that nightclub knew I was Latina. They humiliated me by committing disgusting acts and treating me like a criminal because I was a waitress. After this experience, I understand how difficult the situation is for Latinos who come to the United States hoping to change their lives. As a recommendation, Latinos should be proud to represent their home country in the United States, because nothing can affect us after all the racism and humiliation we have to face in this context.
