Throughout history, man has continued to expand his field of action, moving from a local agrarian economy, to cottage industries, to national industry, to the newly established international commercial framework. globalized world that exists today. This progression makes perfect sense, as it always increases the efficiency with which products are manufactured and services are rendered. However, put in context, the theoretical maximization of efficiency can have disastrous consequences for independent nations. The excessive specialization of national industries, in a drive for globalization and efficiency, also has the effect of reducing internal trade infrastructures. This article examines economic protectionism and highlights two situations in which its use is fully justified.IntroductionGlobalization is the most influential aspect of business today. Look around you and inspect some common objects around you: televisions, automobiles, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, and even the clothes you wear. Chances are, every item you see has been impacted by globalization. Whether the item contains foreign parts or is produced entirely outside of your country, it has been directly impacted by globalization. Globalization, overall, is a good thing. Globalization puts a lot of power in the hands of consumers, enables unprecedented market insight and has led to breakthroughs in logistics. However, globalization can also be detrimental to both underdeveloped and developed countries. Although free trade is a kind goal, the realities of unrestricted trade must be assessed and planned for.
