  • Essay / Cybersecurity and Technology - 1109

IntroductionIn today's world, technology has evolved to the point that a large amount of information is stored in cyberspace. It is thanks to this type of storage that people around the world have easier access to information than ever before. Before the end of the 20th century, collecting information was long and tedious. To obtain a book that the library did not have, it took at least two weeks depending on the time period, or it might not be possible to obtain that book. But now people can access a large amount of information in just a few minutes. For example, in modern times, if someone wanted to learn about a different culture, they could simply search the information on a computer or any device that had access to the Internet. People can also store sensitive information in cyberspace data such as financial, personal or informational data. Cyberspace is capable of maintaining the complete history of a person's financial records and that person can simply access this entire history with just a few clicks and the use of passwords. Such capability is only possible in cyberspace and more sensitive data essential to society, governments and people is often stored there. In cyberspace, despite the reduced risks of information theft, there are still dangers that people should know about in order to defend themselves. Cyberterrorism is one of the main dangers to all sensitive information in cyberspace. Cyberterrorism can be defined as the use of computers and technologies to cause disruption of servers or widespread fear in society. Thanks to cyberterrorism, the sensitive data of large companies and governments is at risk of being hacked and then used against them. Cybersecurity helps defend against paper-based cyberattacks......they strengthen the security and resilience of critical infrastructureā€¯ (www.whitehouse.gov). This can open up new opportunities for technicians who need employment. Computer technicians can specialize in a wide variety of areas such as monitoring, programming and repair. The world we know needs more IT technicians to help with cybersecurity and protect the data of any government or business. The more computer technicians there are, the greater the choice, so the best ones can be chosen for governments or large companies, which means a decreased chance of becoming a victim of hacking or cyberterrorism.Reference1.
