Essay / Doing something is more productive than doing nothing
Anna Quindlen writes about how to foster creativity in children and, by extension, adults by doing nothing and allowing their minds to foster creativity during this free time. She expresses her thoughts in a short essay “Doing Nothing Is Something”. Quindlen suggests that children are too busy and don't have enough free time. During this free or free time, they experience their own adventures and form their own ideas. It presents the idea that even to begin the creative process of creating literature, music and art, one must have free time to let the mind wonder and create. After a moment's reflection, the thesis presented by Quindlen seems solid, but it does not allow a person to think creatively without downtime. This can't be the whole truth. There is no doubt that free time can facilitate the creative process; this is not the only way to promote it. Hundreds of modern authors and craftsmen who have highly structured lives and are considered among the greatest composers and writers of all time. CS Lewis is an example of a great writer and philosopher whose days were extremely structured until he could eat, sleep, read, write, and walk in the countryside. "I believe that many who find that "nothing is happening" when they sit or kneel before a devotional book, would find that the heart sings spontaneously as they work their way through a piece of difficult theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand Lewis stated in "On the Incarnation" that this quote is mentioned in his book "On the Incarnation" to reinforce the point that. free time is important, but structured free time is fair, effective and efficient Doing this allows you to be more productive than ...... middle of paper ...... creativity ring, but she is wrong. in the fact that it's essential and you had to waste some of it Lewis cherished his free time, but it was structured and limited, so he remained productive and Yo-Yo-Ma didn't have the luxury of either. lots of free time, although they are both musical geniuses who, without their talent, the world of musical expression would be forever altered. Free time should be valued, but it is part of life to be balanced, creative, part-time for free thoughts, experiences and knowledge. Works Cited Lweis, CS ?
