    What if between good and evil did not exist? Where would you be located? Today, we believe that everyone is born with some evil within them. In Victorian times this theory would be considered very wrong, as everyone would either be entirely good or entirely evil. In Bram Stoker's Dracula, good versus evil was symbolized throughout the book as two unmediated antithetical forces. By clearly demonstrating the relationship between dualistic ideas of intuition versus logic, good characters confronting devil-like figures, and symbolism within the natural world, Bram Stoker effectively narrates a "holy war" between the antagonistic forces of good and bad. good and evil were seen in the whole aspect of intuition versus the logic of the book. Dr. Seward writes in his diary: “Yesterday [he] was almost ready to accept the monstrous ideas of Van Helsing; but now they seem to begin before me as outrages to common sense. I have no doubt that he believes everything. I wonder if his mind may have become unbalanced in some way. Surely there must be a rational explanation for all these mysterious things. (174). In the Victorian era, logic was seen as good, while intuition was bad and immoral. Dr. Seward writes that he was at first convinced that Lucy was in fact a vampire, but then thought these ideas were far-fetched. He is unwilling to accept Van Helsing's intuition because his thoughts cannot be justified by logic, but can be proven simply by beliefs. Similarly, Jonathan has initial feelings about Dracula that he was convinced were wrong because they were not rational thoughts.
