  • Essay / Biomass fuels an answer to the environment - 849

Today people are trying to reduce and save the environment, but the only problem is that they don't know how! The solution lies in renewable resources. What are renewable resources, you might ask? This is any natural resource that can be replenished naturally over time. Renewable resources differ from non-renewable resources because non-renewable resources will not replenish themselves in the time required. These resources, both renewable and non-renewable, are used to produce electricity and energy to make our lives easier than they already are. If you remember from before, we learned that non-renewable resources are limited sources of energy because they take time (millions of years) to produce. This means that once they're done, it won't mean the end of the world. We humans will have to rely on renewable resources like wind and solar power to power the world. This is why people are emphasizing the need to shift to renewable resources now, so that when coal, oil, and natural gas are gone, we humans won't be really shocked. Switching to renewable resources like biomass fuels will reduce global warming simply because the main cause of our environmental dilemma is the fault of non-renewable resources like coal and oil that are repeatedly burned in our atmosphere. Economically, the price of raw materials will increase when non-renewable resources are exhausted due to their scarcity. This could pose a major problem for countries dependent on trade in these resources. Biomass fuels are renewable resources consisting of fuels containing energy produced from organic materials. It is a safe and sustainable source of energy and is used to generate electricity and other...... middle of paper ......e. Np, and Web.
