  • Essay / Sustainable Agriculture and Its Importance in the World

I believe it is necessary and possible for agriculture to become more sustainable if we are to continue to feed and clothe the world's growing population. Sustainable agriculture is necessary to meet human needs and preserve our environment. Without an increase in agricultural productivity, we cannot reduce the risks of poverty, which will not improve over time. The world's population is expected to increase significantly in the coming years, and with economic expansion, the demand for food products will increase. Even though resources are insufficient and the effects of food security apply to the way we farm, I believe that with time we can still improve growing habits. Tracking supply and demand is what we should improve for our peers. Sustainable agriculture is the production of animal and plant products, food and fiber using methods that also protect the environment, preserve public health and care for human communities and animal safety are taken into account. Environmental conservation is practiced by raising crops and animals without relying on harsh chemical pesticides and using synthetic fertilizers. It is much better for our generation to have sustainable agriculture, because growing fruits and vegetables on sustainable farms makes consumption safer for us, as well as the surrounding areas. This helps preserve a strong ecosystem and a healthy lifestyle for all human beings. In today's U.S. agriculture, we rely on the fastest way to put food on families' tables. The United States is currently dominated by industrial agriculture, causing us to live in an agroecosystem. A ...... middle of paper ...... agricultural jobs and decline in biodiversity. Additionally, if we do not practice sustainable agriculture, our soil is at greater risk of becoming more vulnerable to droughts and floods, which could increase the risk of further global warming and be less resistant to antibiotics and pesticides. Having sustainable agriculture today is essential to the way agriculture is practiced today, and changing to make it more efficient is the only way we can continue to clothe and feed our growing global population.
