  • Essay / Anna Frank: The Holocaust - 821

Adolf Hitler was a German. He was arrested for carrying out illegal activities within the German government. Once released from prison, Hitler returned to work in the German government. Hitler slowly worked his way into the German government. While working his way to the top, he created laws and changed things to make everything he was going to do legal. Once Hitler reached the top, he began killing Jews and other undesirables. Hitler wanted all Jews and all other undesirables to disappear, he wanted to make them suffer. He had developed the Holocaust plan to get rid of undesirables. The Holocaust was mass genocide, the killing of massive numbers of people of a certain race or group. Since Hitler wanted to kill the undesirables, he set up a camp to take them in and then they would be killed or suffered in some way. Once a person was killed in the camps, they were cremated so that there would not be corpses everywhere. People in the camps were killed by Nazi soldiers who shot them, burned alive, starved, or died from disease. Many people died from diseases like scabies. Most people contracted scabies or lice because the camps were so dirty and cramped that the disease spread quickly. Gas chambers were another means of killing undesirables. The Nazis told them they were going to take them to shower but in reality they were taking them to the gas chambers to kill them. People suffered in the gas chambers because the gas killed them slowly. In other areas where Hitler was trying to get rid of Jews and undesirables, he created ghettos in densely populated cities. Jews would be forced to settle in ghettos. In the ghettos... middle of paper ...... and to have a number that looked like a tattoo. They also had to get rid of all jewelry, glasses and other items. Everyone had to have their hair cut and wear the same thing. Anne's mother and sister were selected to go to another camp because Anne could not go there because of scabies. Anne, her mother, her sister and the vhanndans all died for various reasons in the camp. Mr. Frank was the only one to survive. We learn the history of the Holocaust because we do not want another mass genocide like the Holocaust to happen again. We can stop it sooner so that millions of people who don't deserve to die are killed. We can also deal with people who attempt to commit acts similar to the Holocaust. We also learn more about the Holocaust because it is a very important part of history. We learn how many people lost their lives because of someone who didn't like that certain race..
