Nowadays we can see so many hero type people in our society. Different cultures and different countries will appear different types of heroes. Hero gave us confidence and we can trust them. I chose two heroes to compare and contrast based on cultural aspect and what they act. The two heroes are Batman and Iron Man. In films, the image of the hero is very clear. They are strong in muscles; fight the bad guy to save the world and they have a girlfriend or lover. Their physical fitness is very good with good body shape. Both heroes are in Western culture. Compare with Asian culture heroes, the way to protect the one you love is the same. The image is of reaching the target until death which shows masculine characteristics. For Batman, he is a famous person of high social class. His image is that of a successful businessman and on the other hand, he is a hero to save the city. He is very strong and in good shape. When he catches the thief, he acts independently. He will not ask for help and refuse the involvement of others even if he gets hurt. He is very intelligent and very calm. He will plan first before acting. For Iron Man, he is also a famous person with a high social class. He is an arms producer and company director. Before becoming a superhero, he is simply the one who creates weapons. He is intelligent but sometimes he is quite reckless and does not plan before acting. In Western culture, heroes are those who gave us the positive power to fight for bad things until the end. And these heroes are always presented by Male. Batman and Iron Man are strong in muscles, but the power they can save the world depends on whether they have money or not. Because they are rich and have their own business, they have... paper... or give money to the government. But they choose to be heroes. This shows that they had the same masculine attributes that man should do such things. After becoming heroes, they both changed their styles. For Iron Man, he becomes a little arrogant and Batman hides his emotion. Both gained different masculine characteristics that heroes should have in good physical shape; the heroes must attract many women to love; feel famous all over the world. Also, the power should be given to heroes because they should have an exception to escape the law when they do the right things. As heroes, they do not use God's special power, but only according to what they can create. Without the costume, they're just simple people like you and me. People will trust them when they do things right and help people escape fear..
