Essay / Pros and Cons of a Drunk Driving Accident - 1001
Many establishments should stop people at the door and when a group of people arrive at a bar you must provide proof of a driver designated to enter. Once you do the designated driver will receive a bracelet which will let the bartenders know that this person should not be served alcohol. In Louisiana, a bill is currently being fought to “make it illegal for establishments to serve alcohol to patrons without a designated driver” (Potter). This would reduce the number of drunk drivers, making the roads safer for everyone. Many people who arrive at a bar with friends usually don't think about having a designated driver. But making it mandatory would cause many bar-goers to take having a designated driver more seriously. Many might try to argue that making it mandatory to have a designated driver is a bit too tedious, but it's not just about protecting everyone, but also the intoxicated person. If this is what helps keep large numbers of drunk drivers off the road, this solution will be implemented.
