  • Essay / Women should NOT have equality - 1023

Men are men. Women are women. We have different strengths and weaknesses that we bring to our society. For centuries, men have done most of the hunting and gathering, while women are the guardians and watch over the family. The roles women play are different from those men play. So why this push for equality between the two? We will never be the same in terms of physical or mental strength. Men and women will always be different people and different genders. Women should not have the same rights as men due to differences in physical strength, knowledge and authority. The United States military is one of the most powerful powers in the world. It was built on the strength, determination and endurance of its fighting forces. These forces are primarily made up of men, but women have recently been making their way onto the front lines. Women believe they have what it takes to help fight and win in battle, but is now putting them in fighting roles really a good idea? According to author Greg Sheridan, "A NATION that sends its women into combat on the front lines, in close infantry, in hand-to-hand combat, and in murder, is a nation that either does not take combat seriously or does not respect not men. women seriously” (Sheridan). When nations expect women to be capable of fighting and killing in combat alongside men who have much more experience in these aggressive roles, they are not taking their military seriously. The job of the military is to win wars, this cannot be done with soldiers who do not have enough experience to do it. Fighting in combat requires great physical strength, which most women do not possess. "Because women have less testosterone than men, they have smaller muscle fibers, which leads to the development...... middle of paper ...... a typical American family?" Livestrong.com.
