  • Essay / the British East India Company - 870

Have you ever heard of the FedEx company? Imagine if they had horses and boats instead of cars and planes. They also had their own army and covered much of the world. This is the British East India Company. The company was extremely powerful in many ways. Their ties to Brittan gave them a monopoly on trade and their armies allowed them to control their own lands. The British East India Tea Company helped spark the War of Independence. The British East India Tea Company was originally called "the Governor and Company of London Merchants Trading in the East Indies". They each fought back, through the Boston Tea Party and the Intolerable Acts. The East India Company unwittingly crossed the border and started the Revolutionary War by selling tea. And then, the Revolution began. Ultimately, it was clear that one of the main causes of the War of Independence was the British East India Company. The company was one of the largest trading companies that ever existed. They were one of the most powerful groups in existence at the time. And, although it was not intentional, the company created the United States, an entire country..
