As technology advances and becomes more evident in today's society, it creates an overlooked problem when it comes to usage mobile phones by adolescents. There is no doubt that cell phones can be implemented in a positive way by allowing us to more easily stay in touch with people locally and around the world. However, when not used in moderation, cell phones certainly have a detrimental impact on today's modern teenagers. It is not something that was born out of nothing, as Albert Einstein predicted: “I fear the day when technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots” (1). Unfortunately, it is today that technology, or more specifically cell phones, have negatively affected us as human beings in aspects such as: social interaction, academic ability and physical health. This conflict is not something that should be looked at without thought or worry, but something that people should take into consideration because it is important that we realize that cell phones have had a negative effect on the way we humans think, act, and interact with each other. . - There is no doubt that cell phones have changed the way people communicate with each other. They made it easy for people to interact with anyone in the world, just by pressing a button. Yet this technology has also had a negative impact on the way teenagers socialize with each other. Cell phones have become a substitute for social interactions and face-to-face communications with family members and friends. However, these common misconceptions have been justified by several negative effects in an adolescent's life such as: social interaction, academic ability, and physical well-being. Cell phones have evolved from something more than just a hand-held device, but have become something that causes harm, danger, and allows little human-to-human interaction. These destructive gadgets, called cell phones, have become an “epidemic.” An epidemic that spreads from person to person, from family to family, from house to house, to the point where the whole world has experienced this “epidemic”.
