  • Essay / Argumentative Essay on Domestic Violence - 729

It was the night I finally stood up for myself, it was the night charges were filed, I wanted to value myself more, have respect for myself- In fact, it was at night that I almost died, attacked by strangulation. After telling everything to my family, to my friends, this is what encouraged me to take a stand to fight, to fight against domestic violence, that it is not acceptable to be mistreated and that no woman should never have to go through this. I knew I had a long road to recovery ahead of me, but I needed to get through it, I valued my life more than that. This is how I encouraged others to support me and support me, when I stood up for myself and fought against domestic violence.4. Domestic violence is so similar to terrorism that if it is not stopped, the problem will only get worse until it is too late. The parallel is that people are afraid to stand up and say something, they know something is happening, but they think it doesn't concern me, or that they are grown up, that they can make their own choices in life. People don't understand how dangerous domestic violence is, laws should be stricter in the United States regarding domestic violence.
