HippiesThe 1960s. A time when many events happened and happened. One particular movement, which many people called a culture, had the name most people know of hippies. They rejected the traditional lifestyle and demonstrated love and peace. They were also known as the “Flower Children”. Hippies created anti-war movements in the 1960s and kept these movements going for a long time. As long as hippies existed in American history, they did not inspire the youth of the hippie generation (1960-1970). The hippies did not embolden the youth in a positive way. They carried out many experiments which greatly affected the young people. The hippies did not galvanize the nation because of their lack of control over drug use, their laziness, and their access to free love. Hippies were known for their heavy drug use, and at the time the anti-war movement contained a large amount of drugs. the youngest. In the 1960s, drugs were not considered corrupt or a threat. They were considered a cure for illness. Specifically, medications were considered painkillers, they helped with sleep, they alleviated worry, and so on. (Hippies and drugs). The hippies fiercely changed the youth of their generation, they taught horrible habits and lifestyles. Adolescence was strongly impacted, particularly because most hippies were made up of it.
