Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a teenager or experience life in the 1980s? When acid wash jeans and denim jackets became popular with both men and women, MTV was first broadcast. When artists like Madonna and Michael Jackson were dominating the charts, hip-hop emerged. Teenagers looked like George Michael with a left side earring and girls looked like Blondie or Cyndi Lauper with a side ponytail. It was a time when President Ronald Reagan and “Reagan-nomics” ruled the United States and shows like Save By The Bell reigned supreme among teenagers. Yes, the 1980s were a very unique decade in the United States, but we're mainly going to focus on 1989 because that's the year I was born. In addition to my birth being a special and important date for me, many famous and infamous people have accomplished many things and been recognized or punished based on their actions that year. But there are only three people in particular who caught my attention and are worth mentioning in this assignment. These three individuals are Gunpei Yokoi, Tappan Morris Jr and Denzel Washington. All three men are distinctly different but all accomplish something significant during the year 1989. In its third generation of gaming consoles in 1983, people were introduced to gaming systems like the Nintendo Family Entertainment System (or Nintendo Entertainment System) and the Sega SG-1000. . These high-tech consoles put an end to the bankruptcy of video game companies caused by massive production of low-end games which lost an immense number of consumers.
