Essay / The status of women in Islam - 946
The status of women in Islam In Islam, women and men are equal in their relationship with Allah. It is clearly visible that Allah created men and women differently, so that they can accomplish different goals in life. It is not a question of superiority of one sex over another, but rather of differentiation of roles. Islam teaches that men and women complement each other and are both of equal importance. On the other hand, this is not the case in many cultures and traditions; before and after Islam, the status of women in much of the world was appalling to the point that it was even doubted whether women were human beings. They had no rights and were treated worse than animals. However, their situation was not as bad as it could have been; this is simply because they are able to provide for the children. After all, without women, the world's human population would not grow, so they must have some use in standing out from the world. The question is: is this the only reason why women have a high status not only in recent society but also in Islam? On the one hand, in many Muslim countries, women do have a high status, but only as mothers. This is evident in the way they are treated in today's society. In Pakistan, 70% of women are victims of violence within their homes. This clearly shows that women don't mean anything, they are just there to be abused and have children. Moreover, even in Islam, the status of a mother is much higher than that of a childless woman. This is because the middle...... middle of paper ......d that "Whoever has two or more daughters and has not buried them or insulted them, has raised them properly and has not favored his sons compared to his daughters, he and I will be like this…” At that moment, he raised two fingers side by side as a metaphor to show how close this father would be to the Prophet (S) himself. In conclusion, it clearly shows that having a daughter is such a great admiration, and those who grow them up well have great respect. Therefore, all women have a high status, their ideas and opinions are always welcome. They have economic, social and political rights, just like men. Although the role of a mother is greatly admired in Islam and she has many rights over her children, her daughter or sister has rights. similar on her because she is not greater than them in terms of a true slave of Allah..
