Describe the position/careerThe normal job title I have chosen is “Chartered Accountant”. The profession of accountant involves providing accounting and business advice to businesses and individuals. The Chartered Accountant may also provide information to clients on tax planning, personal financial planning, business finance and information technology (job description). The main skills required for a chartered accountant are communication skills, computer skills and listening skills. A chartered accountant needs communication skills because they need to speak with their clients and must be able to effectively explain the advice they are giving to them. A chartered accountant must have computer skills because they are constantly performing calculations using a computer and using different programs to correctly display financial information to their clients. Finally, an accountant must have good listening skills, because he must pay full attention to what the client is saying, without interrupting him unnecessarily (Do you want to become an accountant?). Beneficial personal abilities are strong interpersonal skills. This is because chartered accountants must always communicate and be social with their clients. They are constantly put in a position where they must share their expertise with businesses and customers. Strong interpersonal skills are therefore important to be able to communicate information effectively with their clients.
