There were sports like wrestling, weightlifting, long jump, javelin throwing, high jump, swimming, rowing, shooting (like bow and arrow), fishing, and there were also many different ball games. Wrestling is an old sport but it is very popular. Most places have a history of struggle. Weather is the same kind of struggle. The same year American boxer Jack Dempsey beat Jess Willard for the heavyweight title, Jack won and Jess walked away with a broken jaw, this fight looks like something I would like to see. The same year, 1924, a British rugby team called the Lions toured South Africa, which was a pretty big event. Just four years later, Norwegian figure skater Sonja Henie won the first of three consecutive individual Olympic gold medals. Wow, if you think about it, sports have changed a lot throughout history, especially between 1800 and today, that's when it's changed the most.
