Essay / This generation is smarter than past generations
I strongly believe that people of my generation are smarter and smarter than our ancestors, while my grandparents disagree with this idea. I see that the current discovery of scientific facts and modern technology helps shape our idea of the world and leads us to a better understanding of the world, giving us the capacity for speed, convenient access to information and natural facts , and correcting false myths. Additionally, a completely new style of teaching allows today's children to be more creative and confident than those of yesteryear, as students are allowed to ask their teacher when in doubt and participate in an open discussion in class. While our grandparents spent their free time reading books, playing with wooden toys and breathing fresh air outside the house, children of my generation are surrounded by televisions, games video, tablets, smartphones and computers in a closed room. These gadgets, unlike books which require a lot of imagination to build a world from text, bring a vivid picture of fantasy to the screen. My grandparents maintain that reading a printed book makes the reader think, gather vocabulary, and analyze the story while leafing through it. However, research by Joy Hirsch, director of fMRI research at Columbia University Medical Center, in 2013, shows that "following the storyline of an edited film clip [on television] that depicts a visual action requires a complex and coordinated effort across the world. several brain areas. This media activates and stimulates the brain. Our senses work to attract our attention and help our brains become more attentive to our surroundings. In this regard, we are smarter than our grandparents when it comes to activity. With these gadgets we develop skiing...... middle of paper ...... our own eyes. We may not memorize things better than our grandparents, but we are smarter than them when it comes to creativity and self-confidence. It is now clear that in many ways, people of this generation are smarter than previous generations. We have modern technology that provides us with a convenient lifestyle and access to information. Through this technology we get a correct understanding of nature. We also become much more reasonable and creative. Therefore, I still firmly believe that we are indeed smarter than our parents and grandparents. Works Cited “Flappy Birds dominates app lists.” UPI.com. Internet.
