    Saunders by George Saunders argues that the media has the ability to change what people talk about and alter their opinions, by constantly being there. In Cyberbully, this is demonstrated firsthand when Taylor's best friend, just wanting to fit in, begins to distance herself from Taylor and eventually tells her that they can't be friends anymore because of the rumors spreading at the expense by Taylor. Her friend doesn't want to be associated with her because she wants to fit in too and she's heard so many rumors over and over again that she's started to see them reflected in Taylor. She accuses Taylor of being too flirtatious, an activity she openly encouraged before the rumors. Her changing opinion of her childhood best friend, based on a bunch of obvious lies, shows how much weight and importance given to false truths and what others think has become more important in society than true friendship and friendship. the act of standing by one's friends through trials, especially those related to friendship. out of
